The Black Man's problem ! HE DOESN'T KNOW GOD!
It's important to recognize that every individual, regardless of their race, has their own unique spiritual journey and relationship with God. The statement that black people/men don’t know God is not only dismissive, but also rooted in the same harmful stereotypes harped by whites. Black communities have a long history of deep faith, with Christianity (and other religions) playing a significant role in their cultural and spiritual lives.
Historically, black people have found strength and resilience in their faith, especially through struggles such as slavery and systemic oppression. Figures like Martin Luther King Jr., Harriet Tubman, and many others were profoundly connected to their faith and used it as a source of strength and guidance.
Faith, spirituality, and knowledge of God are deeply personal, and it’s important to approach conversations about religion and race with respect for the diversity and richness of people’s beliefs and experiences. Maybe talk about why as a black woman/person YOU feel YOU don't know God as black person? I get the sense you are referring to everyone but yourself...?
